Being a Good Point Englander.

WALT: Independently writing and explanation.

Task Description: This is my explanation writing task about Being A Good Pt Englander, and we have been writing explanation and been getting ready for our test, but also actually writing about our school and seeing what it takes to be a good Pt Englander.

Do you know what it means to be a good Pt Englander? Well, here at Point England we are all good students and I am going to be explaining how to be a good Point England for our school. Some ways to do that are to be respectful, show kindness, using your WITS, and being helpful.

Being respectful is one way to be a good Point Englander and showing what awesome looks like towards everyone in the school. Also when you have visitors walking around the school you respect them and lead the way along with showing them around and not being disrespectful towards them. For example if you have a reliever in your class, and you don’t respect them and you respect your other teacher, then you are being very disrespectful instead of respectful.

Showing kindness is another way to be a good Point Englander and I think we need to show a bit more when people are feeling down. Like when people have an accident and they feel sad, we just need to be a good friend and help with whatever is going on. For example if someone gives a present to you for something and you want to be even more kind, then you can give back and that's how you be kind to others.

Another way is to use your W.I.T.S around the school and remembering to walk way, ignore it, talk about it, and seek help. When you are in a fight or something goes wrong then that means you have to walk away from it (W), ignore what's happening around you(I), talk to someone about(T), and seek a teacher for help(S). Like when somebody gets real mad at someone and they are not feeling well, then you can give them the korero about using your WITS and showing them how to use it.

Being helpful is one of the ways to be a good Pt Englander, and by that I mean helping others when they are struggling with their work. Like when people need help and you can see that they need it,then you can go up to them and ask or just help straight away by not even asking because you are already being a good Pt Englander. For example if someone is carrying heaps of things to a class room and they drop it on the ground, then you can go and help them pick it up and be a good Pt Englander along the way. 

Now there you have it, 4 ways on how to be a good Pt Englander. 

I hope that you can take these reasons and use them to be a good Pt Englander just as great as you are. Also I hope that these will help you through the years when your a Pt England student.
