Description: This morning in Assembly we have received our Duffy books from Dominion Constructors, they have given us the book that we chosen and we are very grateful for these because we can learn more and have fun. The book I have chosen is the series of Spirit Animals, Fire and Ice book 4.

Personal Service Announcement: Water Pollution.

Task Description: This is a reading task that we have worked in a small group for a few days about a PSA (Public Service Announcement). I have worked with Alison, Jacob, and Nevaeh, we have worked together to create a PSA about Water Pollution. Water pollution is something that we have focused on this term, all about what happens with water pollution all around the world. Putting in different facts and images to show yous what it is like to do a PSA.

Reading: Kiwi Kids News Read Off!.

 Task Description: This reading off is all about  news articles and pulling out key information,  I have read the news article Baby Shark breaks the internet. I have answered the question about this article and read it well.

Reading Create: Climate Change Web.

 Task Description: This task is all about Climate Change from the video and book,  we have discussed some things with our teacher talking and learning about climate change. From the video I have mad my words and sentences box yellow, from the book/text pink boxes.

Create Task: Power Alternatives.

 Task Description: My create task is about power alternatives and the environment, I have made a poster showing the problems with power alternatives and the solutions. Also I have shared extra information about this book that I have read and what it is about.

Renewable Energy.

 Task Description: This reading task is all about renewable energy and we are learning what the problems with this is and what solutions we could use to help it. Also we have listed down what we have learnt from the video and highlight the important phrases and words.

Plastic Fantastic - Pollution.

WALT: Identify a world problem and come up with solutions. 

Task Description: Our reading task this week is all about plastic affecting our world. But also finding solutions on how we can prevent plastic from polluting our world too. We have also made a poster on what we can teach you's about how to stop polluting plastic and stop harming our animals and ourselves.

Myths and Legends.

 Task Description: For our reading task this week we have done a Myths and Legends presentation, looking and different myths and legends and working what the protagonist it and the  antagonist. These two words mean good guy, and bad guy, villain or hero, we've done a create task and I have done a summary about the video on the last slide.

 WALT: Analyse, evaluate, and synthesise information from complex text.

Task Description: Our reading task this week we have done a task about Captain James Cook. We have read about how he discovered New Zealand and his past, also we've done  create task. 

Ngatu - Keeping the Tradition Alive.

Task Description: Reading this morning is about a book called Ngatu - Keeping the Tradition Alive. We had to explain what we have read of what helps Tongan people keep their tradition alive.  

Taniwha - Tuhirangi.

Task Description: For this weeks reading task we had to choose a Taniwha from this video and create a poster or slide deck explaining what we picked, a map of where the Taniwha's landscapes are, and photos of the marks spaces till this day. Also we had to make a video and tell our bloggers about the Taniwha we have chosen and tell you's a little bit about their story. 

Rata and the Totara Tree.

Task Description: For this weeks reading task we have learnt about the Totara Tree, we had to summarise and describe about an article.  This is a myth also called Rata and the Totara Tree, also making a review video or audio of what we liked, found interesting, and what we learnt about the article.

Venn Diagram: Similarities of 2 Myths.

WALT: identify the difference between a myth and a legend.

Task Description: This week for reading we have watched different myth creation story's from around the world and I have done them from Hawaii and New Zealand. Then we had to work with a partner to create a venn diagram and compare what they have the same.

Book Review!

During the school holidays I am reading chapter books from 20-30 minutes a day and here is the first book iv'e read for about 4 days. Reading is very good and cool, it exercises  your brain and gives energy, also it can help you go up to a higher level in reading too. This is a comic and the name of it is Amulet: Escape from Lucien Book 6

I have found the book very interesting and cool because there are very magical things going on and people that are named the storekeepers, because they hold a special stone that gives them the power of protecting people or for no good.

Description

Cumulonimbus is a dense, towering vertical cloud, forming from water vapor carried by powerful upward air currents. 

3. Ravaged: Severely damaged; devastated.

4. Consolation: The comfort received  by a person after a lost or disappointed.

A Game Of Card - New Words.

Task Description: This Weeks reading we having done a vocabulary poster from a book called Game Of Card, and we had to copy down each word that our teacher has put down on the board. The words were some that our class didn't know so we had to find the meaning and the meaning of the little sentence in the bottom right corner, also there were places mentioned to we marked where in New Zealand was Rongopai and Waituhi.
