Writing- The Young Detective.

WALT: Write a narrative

Task Description: This week for writing we started off with a narrative. Mrs Moala gave us a picture to guide us and an example of what we are writing. The blue writing on this narrative is Mrs Moala's writing and she has started us off with a good introduction. Then the black writing is the writing that we have to do on our own, so we had to finish off the story. I hope to some time finish writing during the rest of the week.

It had been three days since it had gone missing. One minute he had held it in his hand, the next it had vanished. How could it just have disappeared? It had been right in front of his eyes!
He had been warned about what would happen if he lost it. His mission had been to guard the key with his life, ever since they visited him last summer.
Adam had always had a detective’s instinct. They had told him as much. He had been chosen because he had certain skills, and he would need them more than ever now.
Only one clue had seemingly been left, which was sat on the living room table.
Holding the magnifying glass up to his eye, Adam began to investigate…

It was only him who would be able to find it and he who lost it needs to find it. But again he has the skills of an investigator so he might find the key and get all the answers he could possibly get. As he looked around the house with his magnifying glass his mum called out “Adam time for bed”, “Ok mum” Adam replied. He hopped into bed and couldn’t go to sleep because he was still thinking about that key, the wind was howling and the trees were swaying. In his bed Adam was tucked in tight and suddenly fell asleep.

The next day everything was about to come to an end, Adam got up, got ready, and grabbed his magnifying glass. He went to the living where he last saw the key and looked around for it some more. While dad was on the couch reading a book, he looked at him and started to think what in the world he was doing.
Dad got up and asked him “son what are you doing”,
Adam replied “dad, do you know the key that I got from the librarian on Sunday”,
“Yeah, the magical one”
Adam said “ yeah that one, well I lost it and now I can’t find it, I looked everywhere where I left it but nothing”.
They stopped the conversation and dad went to help him look for it around the house. When dad stopped and thinked for a moment he just remembered that they had a mouse come in a while ago. So there was a high chance that the mice took it or something else, because if there’s  one thing that can carry and move things it’s either us humans, or those creepy mice. Finally Adam and dad found a clue, tiny footprint even tinier than a pencil rubber. So it must have been them but they'll find out very soon . . . .
