Narrative Writing Test: My New Friends.

Task Description: Here is our writing test for the term and and we had to proof read it and post it on our blog. What we had to do is pick a picture and choose 1 out of 4, then we had to plan for 5 minutes then start writing for 45 minutes straight, I hope you enjoy my narrative writing.

My New Friends

A girl named Anna was a really joyful girl, she was at a wonderful school in Sydney, Australia. Anna loved all her friends and how great she was at her learning, every Saturday she and her parents go out and buy ice-cream. But Anna was the only child, so it was hard sometimes for her not talking to any but her parents. One day Anna’s parents told her some good and bad news, they were moving to a city called Madrid in Spain, but Anna was feeling sad because she didn't want to leave all her friends. Her father got a new job there, and so they had to move to Spain for the new job, Anna was down and wasn’t feeling too excited.

On the 29th of May a beautiful warming morning appeared and they arrived in Spain, then they caught a taxi to the city Midrid. They were living in an apartment up in a high building and mother couldn't wait to put Anna into a new school, so Anna could have lots of friends and start fresh. Anna’s birthday was in two days mum just remembered and said,  

“How awesome Anna, we're going to celebrate your 9th birthday here in Madrid.” she said with excitement.

As the day went past and the sun went down, Anna was finished packing her stuff in her new room, Anna was still a bit miserable but soon found a way to just be grateful,  and it was to play some board games with her family.

The next day arrived and it was Anna’s first day at Rivera Primary School, father was off to his new job and mother was getting ready, as Anna was having breakfast. Anna hopped of the chair and went to grab her backpack in her room, mother called out,

“Come on Anna you're gonna be late!.”

“Ok Mother!.” Anna yelled

They both raced to the car and drove off to school. A few moments later Anna was put into a class with a lot of kids and her class name was Tahi, which means 1. When Anna was sitting at a table everyone around her were all colouring a picture of School and writing what is amazing about school. She had received a paper and started her picture at school, soon the bell rang and that was morning tea break. She got her lunch out and ate outside on the bench, when she was playing no one wanted to play with her and that was a bit of a problem. But then it was time to go home and mum picked her up at the school gates.

As they got home mum asked,

“How was your first day at school Anna.” she said happily.

“Bad.” said Anna

“Know one didn’t want to play with me.” Anna said as well with great sadness

Mum went over and cheered her up with a snack. 

It was the next day and 1 more day till Anna turned 9, while Anna was at school again she still played on the slide by herself. But then three girls came up to her and said

“Hi my name is Galah,” Said the girl with curly hair.

“Hi my name is Emma.” Said the girl with a great big smile.

“Hi my name is Jayla.” Said the girl with a pink outfit.

Jayla went up closely and said with a happy voice,

“Would you like to come and play with us on the swings.”

Anna looked up with a huge smiley face,

“Sure I’d love to come and play,” she said.

Then they were on their way playing all around and having fun with each other. Anna felt happy and joyful to have new friends playing with her so she became their best friend and they became hers.

Finally it was Anna’s 9th birthday and she was so excited to go back to school, early in the morning mother surprised her with a pancake cake with a candle and father was even there singing Happy Birthday to her. 

Anna was at school and she and her mother decided to have a birthday party as soon as Anna came back from school, but Anna wanted to invite all of her friends from school, and she told Galah, Emma, and Jaylah to come to her birthday party. Mum was so happy that she had made friends and would be very fine with some friends coming over.

It was after school and her friends and she went to her house and had lots of fun, playing games, painting nails and baking cookies. But there was one more thing, the cake, everyone gathered and sang happy birthday to Anna and she blew her candles out and opened presents. Anna really wanted to go out for ice-cream, so her mum found a place around the corner from the building and they all had some ice-cream together.

Don't Let Go.

WALT: Write a narrative using dialogue.

Task Description: This week for writing we had to write a narrative called don't let go and use this picture to guide us through. We have been learning about using lots and lots of dialogue to our writing so it can make our writing more better.

It was a dark and stormy night when Amelia was having a cup of tea and sweets. Her mum and dad didn’t live with her, it was only her Aunt Precious and her secret animal friends. But there was an interruption when she was having her supper, someone knocked at the door and the princess was confused because no one comes at this time of the night. She went and opened it and there was a lady with a black hood and a walking stick. The lady gave her a blue stone that was glowing white. She didn't know what to do but take it, the lady said once a full moon everything is permanent. So basically it was a wishing stone, but it was weird how the lady came to her door late at this time of the night.

The next morning it was very sunny and Princess Amelia got up, got ready, and headed down stairs for breakfast. Aunt Precious was making pancakes with orange juice on the side. Amelia couldn’t stop thinking about the stone, she would love to have a ball in her very own castle, she thought. But it can’t happen in my caste she thought again, maybe she would wish for an invitation to a ball from the royal prince.

In the afternoon she went to her secret garden with the stone, and sat on her swing. As she was looking and looking at her ‘Blue Glowing Stone’ she said I wish. . .  for an invitation to a ball. As the stone began to float and everything was just frozen for a bit. Once it had stopped everything was normal, and the Princess went to look around and there was nothing.

When it came to the evening of the day there was a knock at the door, and there was a man with a scroll. The man gave to her and she read it out loud,

“You are invited to my castle ball which will begin at 7:45pm, so don’t be late, Yours sincerely Prince ----” the princess was surprised.

So she closed the door and went upstairs to get ready, her Aunt came with her to see what she was doing, 

|“What are you doing Amelia” 

“I’m going out for the night so I won’t be late”

“All right then, don’t forget to be back by 9:00pm”

“Ok” she replied back

Finally it was time to go, but when she got her purse and went out the door, she forgot to order a ride. But then she remembered that the stone could wish her anything, so she grabbed the stone and wished . . .

Keyhole Narrative.

Keyhole Narrative-

It all began when I was at school and let me tell you this, I've never been so frightened before just because of this that doesn’t mean I was so scared (but was I). 

It was about 8:30 am and I was at school getting ready for the first block of the day which was Literacy/reading and writing. Then I noticed that I forgot to get my books at home this morning so I asked my teacher Miss Charlotte if I could go to the library. But then she actually needed to go too and so did my friend Mary, so we popped out of class for a bit and went off. As we got there, my other friend (Nevaeh) she was reading a book and so we went to go and sit next to her and talk while our teacher was talking the library lady too. When we sat next to her Mary and I looked at the book she was reading and it was this big brown weird looking book with a magic map on it and other things, so we asked what it was about but she was too focused on it. Anyway as went looking for the books that we needed, but something strange was going on at the same time.

We looked around and everything was just quite, then we ran back to Nevaeh and she read up to this page that was actually a spell and we didn’t think that it would be real. Suddenly the page that she was on was the spell bit and everything was changing and it went pitch black all of a sudden.

Everyone was on this small island and it was floating around, me and my friends, plus Miss Charlotte was so scared and confused at the same time. We looked at eachother and we made our way into this cave thing. After that we had a map, the map that was on the front page of the book, I got up and started to look around. It looked like we were in this other world, because we've never seen anything like this before in our lives. Now we looked at the map and started to read what it said, it says that we have to try and get the keep that was with in a keyhole if we wanted to get out of this world.

Okay, we have to do this we all said together, and then we took the map and went off further into the cave. Finally we could see some clues on the map because we’ve accomplished the first stage and we were so happy to see that we were working together as a team. But then that wasn’t all because it was the only stage and when we saw the keyhole all of us started jumping happily because we all wanted to go home. So then we got closer and closer to the keyhole and we did it!.

1st Draft Narrative: Magical Playtime.

Today Room 1 Literacy Class is doing a Narrative that you could pick your own picture to write about. Here is the picture that I have picked.


But first here's a brain storm of what my story is going to be about:


Here is my writing:

One normal Thursday it was very sunny and I knew what that meant, I had to play
with my little sister (Aleyria) she is so cute, but she can be annoying. Every sunny day
we always play together but some days it can get very cranky. When I woke up to a
wonderful morning my little sister was already up, getting ready. When I went down
stairs she was having breakfast feeling so happy that we could play today. She asked
me if I was ready too, but I just said “not yet Aleyria, but nearly”. I went back upstairs to
brush my teeth and wash my face then after that I went straight to my bedroom.
My sister was right there on my bed waiting for me, and I knew she would do that to
me straight away.

Then I asked her “what are you doing Aleyria” I said in a cranky voice, “nothing
wrong I hope” she said back to me. I looked at her for a few long seconds, but she
wouldn't move.

So I walked out making my way back downstairs for breakfast. Now what should I
have ( thinking to myself in my head ), well today I should just have toast with butter on it.
This kind of meal just gives me good vibes while I eat it when i’m looking outside.

But suddenly I heard someone come down stair and of course it was my sister,
“now are you ready” she said as I was doing my dishes. “Yes, now I am Aleyria”
ok then let’s go play, and we left to go outside.

I was wondering if any of my friends were busy, so I gave them a call.
But firstly I rang Nevayah my best friend, she has just started at our school ever
since last year and she is so kind. When I rang her up she was still sleeping in her bed,
so I asked if she was doing anything today.

As I asked her what she was doing today she asked me back “are these one of the days,
that we play with your sister again Paige”, ohh yes I said back with a long sigh.
I looked back at my sister and she started coming over to me, what are you doing Paige,
oh you know just talking to my friend Nevayah.

Ok just wait one minute she said with a cranky angry voice, you are talking to your
friend instead of playing with me, umm I will be there soon ok I said back.
As I went back to the phone I talked to her very quickly, ok Vayah ( that her nickname )  
can you please! come over and play with us I asked her as fast as I could, ok fine she
said with a long voice.

Bye bye I said, see ya later I guess she said back.
Looking back at my sister I could tell that she was very bored,
so then I went over to her and played with her until Nevayah could come.
Also thinking about my other friend/cousin Neveah if she could come over and play too,
so I gave her a rang. But all of a sudden she was already walking past my house and
she saw me and Aleyria playing together. After she walked past she shouted
“hey Paigey ( that’s my nickname )”, oh hey come and come come and play, ok.

My Great Game Of Awesome Narrative.

One day there was a strange thing happening on our pacific atoll island. We found out that there was a secret sidekick around on the island. The sidekick was a very mental man or women he or she was searching for a very special thing that was hidden.  We did not know what they were looking for. But a long long time ago lived this very special type of animal. I have been dying to see it. But it was never to be seen again. So I thought for a bit and when I saw them I heard them talking about that animal. They were searching and they will never stop until they do find it.

Later that day I saw something suspicious when I was walking around on the island something was  hiding.

When I looked closer I saw that it was a little boy. I have never seen anything like it before. I asked him are you ok and he said nothing I think he was lost and shy. I wondered why he had hide in this little house that he made  for years. I did not even know about this sins I saw him that day. When I found him I gave him some food and water so he wouldn't get that hungry. After that I went home and told everyone about that little boy that had  hid in the bushes.

Straight after midnight we heard a big noise coming from the sea. When we down to the beach we saw something coming straight ahead of us and it was a …… ferry boat.

We all have not seen anything like it before. Well only back in the olden days.

On the ferry boat there was group of santa’s. They were bringing their parade over to our island. They had very cool talent. We were very lucky to see a very special performance. Then they left on Thursday because they could not stay behind. They were travelling around the world performing. We shore loved having them here. It was good that they were  keeping us some company. Then we went out for breakfast on the beach.

After a wonderful week we all spend heaps of time with each other. Then we all had a very nice dinner. Soon it was the end of the day.
