Pt England School Art Exposition 2020.

Today Pt England School have travelled around the school for  an Art Exposition where every student shows everyone around the school what they did for our theme this year 'Art Alive'. Everyone in the school has been preparing for the Art Expo, but also learning new things about the experience of art. 

Heading clockwise around the school we have all stood in each class and taking a look at the art around us. Everyone has done very cool art projects and everything is based on what topic each team has focused on,  with very creative art and display each student has done for this years Art Expo.

This was my last Art Exposition for all my time here at Pt England School, as for next year I am in college. This year's Art Expo was fun, cool, and also a good experience for us kids, because we can carry on that knowledge and become great artists. What great fun we have had with the Art Expo and I hope everyone has had fun and written an cool explanation about today.

Duffy Book: Spirit Animal Fire and Ice.

Description: This morning in Assembly we have received our Duffy books from Dominion Constructors, they have given us the book that we chosen and we are very grateful for these because we can learn more and have fun. The book I have chosen is the series of Spirit Animals, Fire and Ice book 4.

Manaiakalani Film Festival Favourites.

 Task Description:This poster has my favourite Film Festival movies and I have chosen one from Tamaki College, and one from Pt England. I loved these movies because they are very cool and fun to watch, in each box I have described their movies with some short words.

SLJ - Activity 3: Tuvalu Language Week.

Spring Learning Journey

 Task Description: For this  activity we have touched on the Tuvalu Language Week, and above this description is a little about the Tuvaluan Language and theme. Tuvalu has some pricinples that guard their theme for the year and I chosen one, also making a poster and explaining what I think the principle means. But also finding the meaning for 'principle' and in this poster I have the added the poster theme too.

Tuvalu Language Week! is this week and the theme is "Fakatili Te Kiloga Fou" which means "Navigating the changing environment".  Tuvalu Auckland Community Trust, Taumatuas, parents and families are knowledge holders and play important roles in keeping the Tuvaluan language and culture traditions alive.

These are guided by principles such as:

Olaga kau fakatasi ko te maopoopo ko te malosi

(Unity is togetherness and strength)

Olaga fiafia o sala te poto sala se lumanai manuia

(Wisdom is the path to happiness and a bright future)

Olaga Fealofani

(Live in peace with others)

SLJ Activity 1 - Book Worms.

Spring Learning Journey

Spring Learning Journey (SLJ) : This school holidays ours teachers have made us a Spring Learning Journey, which means we post an activity each day that is put down for us. We learn and create each task that is given and I will be posting from Monday-Friday this week. Stay tuned for all the cool and amazing things I post on my blog for the Spring Learning Journey. 

Task Description: For this activity ( No. 1) we have got given to design, create, or draw our own book cover of our favourite book. So then we can draw anything that could match our favourite book and a phrase in my class is 'Don't judge a book by it's cover' because most people just pick books by the cover. Whether it's cool or fun to read to don't judge it because what is written inside may not be as fun to read than the cover. Then we post it to our blog and I hope you enjoy what I have drawn for my favourite book which is 'Amulet Fire Light'.

WLJ: Day 5: Activity 5: 3 Key Quotes.

Task Description:

For this activity we had to write 3 key quotes that our parents/whanau have said to us before going back to school for level 2. Down below is the poster make a poster and we had to the quotes on it, I have added some picture so you can a better explanation of what I'm talking about.

Task:

Explanation for each quote:

1. "Sanitise and wash your hands before you eat":

My mum and dad always says this so we don't spread germs around and beat the covid-19. But also making sure that we are always cleaning our body's and making sure that we are always washing hands.

2. "Go to sleep early": 

My Mum says this when we are going back to school from either the holidays or the lock down time. We always need to go sleep early so we can give our bodies energy for the next day and at least sleeping for 8 hours a day.

3. "Read a book":

My Mum says this so we're not always on our devices and so we read. Reading keeps our learning going up when we return to school we can be prepared. But also learning during the holidays and reading for at least 20 - 30 minutes and learning new things.

WLJ: Day 4: Activity 4: Kiwi Sports Star!.

Task Description:

Activity 4 is all about a kiwi sports star, Ameliaranne Ekenasio, she is a netball player in the positions GS and GA. We had to make a profile of our favourite kiwi sports star and for me it's Ekenasio, she is a really good player and can shoot from a long distances like Maria Folau. We had to include information about them and make a profile about them. Also we had to write 4 similes about them and it is at the bottom of the profile.

Similes:

1. Ameliaranne is as fast as a cheetah.

2. Ameliaranne can snatch the ball as fast as a blink.

3. Ameliaranne can run as fast as the speeding wind.

4. Ameliaranne can run from place to place like as fast as a ball.

WLJ: Day 3: Activity 3: Faster than a speeding bullet.

Task Description:

The most renowned sprinter is Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. She currently holds a 100 metre sprint record and was awarded a record four times as "World's fastest woman."

In Jamaica, which is a small Caribbean country that has produced many successful athletes and sportsmen, Shelly-ANN was born and trained. She did well in athletics during her college years and won the 16-year old Jamaican Schools Championships. She won several races in the Olympic and World Championships subsequently. Over the years the people compared their speed with that of many things, including animals, from other elite sprinters, like Usain Bolt!

In fact, people sometimes say things such as: "Shelly-Ann is just as swift as a goetah" or "Shelly-Ann is quick like a fighter jet." These are examples of similar comparisons. Similes are not always valid in many situations.

What we had to do:

For activity 3 we had to create 4 new similes and write them down and share to our blog with you's. At the top is information about the fastest women, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, she is described mostly as similes like "Shelly-Ann is quick like a fighter jet", so we are doing similes too.

Winter Learning Journey: Day 1: Activity 1: Pepeha.

Introduction: During the school holidays the Learning Journey people have made us Winter Learning Journey Activities and we have 10 activities during the 2 week time period. 5 activities for 1 week and then the other I will be trying to post all the activities up each day. Check Activity 1 down below!

Task Description: For our first activity/day 1, we are starting off with our pepeha an introducing me. Telling things about me and where I am from, also we are smart learners so we don't use last names or any personal stuff only initials.
