Only leaving their play area and washing line to see,  this family is okay with it  because they are actually vampires and love to suck blood. When they go out of the woods they will die because of the hot sun shining onto their bodys, with lots of things around them.

Writing: Narrative: The Harmed Seal.

Task Description: This is a narrative about a harmed seal, being harmed by plastic and rubbish. We are learning about our environment and the plastic all around the world.

It was a sunny Sunday morning and we were off to church. I got up and got ready for breakfast, then went for my morning run, and walked the dog. In the morning I always do chores before church, so I did and went to get ready for church. He locked the house and hopped in the car ready to go to church, but then dad forgot his tie and so we waited for a bit.

My friend’s mum, Joanna, was coming to church with us so we picked her up on the way, in the car we always play hand games. After church Joanna and I are going down  to the beach and playing around, since I live on the beach. We always go down to the beach together and find sea shells down the seashore.

We were building a sand castle until Joanna ran to get some more seashells and screamed,

“Ahhh, a seal, it must be dead”,

I ran as quickly as possible and as I got there, there was a dead seal. So we ran up to my house and told my parents, they came to see what it was and called the Animal Patrol.

The Animal Patrol came as fast as they could and gave the seal water so it could breath. The seal was harmed by plastic and so Joanna and I took all the plastic off the seal and threw it in a bin. We were both scared and thought the seal was already dead, but soon the seals eyes opened and it started slithering around.

The seal was still alive and was choked by the plastic all around his neck, me and Joanna were so happy to see that we helped save a seal for the first time. Actually anyone or anything for the first time, the seal went back into the ocean and was swimming happily.

Me and Joanna made sure to make sure people don’t litter and to save our sea life animals around us. Also making sure that whatever rubbish we see, we pick up and keep our environment clean and safe.

Water Sustainability.

Water Sustainability

Have you ever thought about where our water comes from?

Keeping our waterways clean and healthy are important because people don’t really take is serious when we are actually drinking the water. There are many reasons to help our water stay clean, make sure you  don’t throw rubbish in the water, use water wisely and don’t waste, keep the waterways clean so we can have fresh and healthy water.

Turning off water while brush your teeth can save up to 4 gallons each minute. Take shorter showers each minute less will save you 5 gallons. Use paper as less as you can, use email and electronic sources more.

Groundwater and water from marshlands is used to irrigate the fields .  In countries with a dry and hot climate this is especially problematic. Once pumped out of the ground the water doesn’t come back. Government and societies need to change their attitudes towards water.

Two thirds of the countries rivers in New Zealand are now too polluted to swim in.  Water gets polluted not just in our rivers and lakes but in our drinking water too. Sheep has been seeping through the polluted water and thousands of people got sick from it.

There you have it three reasons why you can keep our water clean, don’t throw rubbish in the water, don’t throw rubbish in the water, use water wisely and don’t waste, keep the waterways clean so we can have fresh and healthy water. This is why you should keep our water clean and make sure to be mindful of water we drink and use for our health.

- Line

- Colour
- Texture
- Form
- Value
- Space

The simplest one out of these 7 element is Line, because it could be any kind of line and lines come in all sort of ways. Down below is our worksheet we have done to show different line and emotion picture using lines too.

Immersion Assembly.

Team 3: With the water guns and squirting out tie die, they have made a cool sheet with the art skills they used and painted a rainbow over it and made even cooler. So they are learning on how to be creative with cool things that they can create on their own.

Team 4: Having a google meet as their discussion on what their going to do for this term, and they each created a picture with different culture designs and decided to have that as their topic for this term. So they are learning to draw different Pasifika culture designs and patterns from around the world.

Team 5: The teachers as cool sculptures and paintings in a Art Gallery, we a learning how to create art that is important to us and also act like we are in an art gallery of cool designs. Creating and drawing the things that are special to us and our Whanau.

Mr Burt has decided we are going to change our school logo, because he doesn't know the special reason on why we have a fantail on our logo as our bird. But a bird called the 'Kuaka' which mean in English  the God wit, is soon going to be on our logo. Because this bird is commonly seen in our area Point England and around Tamaki too, but also did you know that it can travel from New Zealand all the way to Alaska in the United States. The Kuaka bird travels there and back because it comes to our area in New Zealand to rest and eat, then travels back all they way to Alaska from about 7,512 miles.

Amazing!

Swimming Lessons @ PES.

Swimming Lessons Term 4!

This morning we have been talking about why it is important to learn how to swim, because this term we have 4 lessons of swimming.

Here are 3 reasons why swimming lessons are important:

1. When we go to the beach or pools and someone is struggling to swim, we could go over and help because we have learnt how to swim.

2. If you dive in the bombing pool and lot's of water goes through your nose, you would have to use one hand to pinch your nose, then when you jump off what you would need two arms to help you swim.

3.  Your family is swimming and your are all the way at the from of the beach or pool, and you want to go over and have fun too. But you can not really go over to them because you can't swim that far to the deep side.

Swimming lessons are really helpful because one day a might save a person nearly drowning and swim right over to help. Also it's good fro your safety when swimming anywhere and making sure you have fun too.

William Shakespeare was a writer , poet and playwright. He is best known for the plays that he wrote while living in England in the 16th Century. They are still famous because they speak about things that are familiar with us-love, revenge, misunderstanding, disappointment, anger, hurt.  Even though they were written a long time ago. You may have heard of some of his plays: Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, King Lear, A Dream of the Midsummer Night.

Gobbly has legs that are like chicken legs, but each step is like a loud stomp, with toes nails as long as his whole body. Tongan History Writing: Tapa Cloth.

Task Description: Here is 2-3 paragraphs all about this video called Tapa Cloth. We had to watch a video and write paragraphs about what we have learned about that video.

Everyday in all Tongan Villages you can hear banging noises of women processing the harvested mulberry. The bark of the mulberry is stripped and beaten into fine cloth.

The women gash the bark with their teeth so they can pull it from the wood, making sure the bark stay’s in one piece. The inner layer of the bark is what they need to make the cloth, using a knife to make a start of cutting the bark and it’s form when the inner layer otutu is gently separated from the husk.

After stripping them all off they measure them in same length groups and roll them all up and leave them. Then they soak it in water to soften it and then and start beating them up with ironwood and it has 4 sides. Three of the sides are grooved to help break the fibres, and they beat it until all spread out into a cloth.
