Water Sustainability

Have you ever thought about where our water comes from?

Keeping our waterways clean and healthy are important because people don’t really take is serious when we are actually drinking the water. There are many reasons to help our water stay clean, make sure you  don’t throw rubbish in the water, use water wisely and don’t waste, keep the waterways clean so we can have fresh and healthy water.

Turning off water while brush your teeth can save up to 4 gallons each minute. Take shorter showers each minute less will save you 5 gallons. Use paper as less as you can, use email and electronic sources more.

Groundwater and water from marshlands is used to irrigate the fields .  In countries with a dry and hot climate this is especially problematic. Once pumped out of the ground the water doesn’t come back. Government and societies need to change their attitudes towards water.

Two thirds of the countries rivers in New Zealand are now too polluted to swim in.  Water gets polluted not just in our rivers and lakes but in our drinking water too. Sheep has been seeping through the polluted water and thousands of people got sick from it.

There you have it three reasons why you can keep our water clean, don’t throw rubbish in the water, don’t throw rubbish in the water, use water wisely and don’t waste, keep the waterways clean so we can have fresh and healthy water. This is why you should keep our water clean and make sure to be mindful of water we drink and use for our health.

  1. Hi Paige! It's Kinae from St Patrick's School Greymouth, I really like how you wrote a lot about water and why we should use less water, and why we shouldn't litter. But maybe next time you could check your punctuation, like in one bit you said take is serious, but you should of said take it serious, and also in one part you repeated yourself. But otherwise it is amazing! Blog you later!
