SLJ - Activity 2: Shakespearean English.

Spring Learning Journey

Task Description: For our second activity for the SLJ we are doing Shakespearean English!, this is a type of English made from the author William Shakespeare. Writing a recount about what we did this morning and translating it from this site to Shakespearean English. Below this there is a little bit about William Shakespeare and he was the one that made the famous story Romeo and Juliet. Enjoy!

William Shakespeare was a writer , poet and playwright. He is best known for the plays that he wrote while living in England in the 16th Century. They are still famous because they speak about things that are familiar with us-love, revenge, misunderstanding, disappointment, anger, hurt.  Even though they were written a long time ago. You may have heard of some of his plays: Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, King Lear, A Dream of the Midsummer Night.

2019 English:

This morning my family and I woke up to a rainy morning and we got ready for breakfast. Before we head down stairs we made our beds, tided our selves up, and went. For breakfast we had french toast and cereal, after that we cleaned up and did our chores for the day.  Then we went shopping for ourselves and bought some lunch after we did our shopping.

Great job with this SLJ task. Did you try reading aloud your day's recount in Shakespearean English? I think it makes it even more interesting and it does sound a little unusual too. Thanks for sharing. Keep it up!
