Year 8 Leadership Camp - Kauaranga Valley.

Photo's:

It was Wednesday 5th of August when the year 8’s were going camp and the year 7’s were having their Step Up Programme. From Wednesday to Friday we all have experienced new things of being a leader and showing what great year 7 and 8’s we all are.

There were 4 teams and the names were Kauaranga, Kauri, Thames, and Coromandel, we arrived at Thames and our camp took place at Kauaeranga Valley Cristian Camp (KVCC).

Our last night was all about our camp concert and we each did an item whether it was a play, a dance, or chants. Two teams came second which was Coromandel and Kauri, and Thames and Kauaranga came third, we each got some candy and shared it between our teams.

My highlights:

  1. Trying new things are becoming fears. F.E.A.R: False, Evidence, Appearing, and Real.

  1. Activities we did and they were:
  • Paintball
  • Archery
  • Rope Games
  • Go karts
  • Air Rifles
  • Gym/Sports
  • Railway Jiggers
  • BMX Bikes

Favourite ones were Go Karts and Gym/Sports because they were fun and very cool to do. Especially Go Karts because i’ve never done Go Karts before and I think it was a very good experience for me to do.

  1. The Food that we ate:
  • Breakfasts: Cereal, Porridge, Toast
  • Lunch: Hot dog’s/Chips/Salad, Sandwiches/snack/fruit

  5. Sonnia
  6. Marika
  7. Tha Zin
