The Ancient Olympics

The first Ancient Olympic games took place about 30000 in Olympia, Greece. The games were held to  honor Zeus the king of the gods and they happened every 4 years. In the beginning the games were just short running races for Greek men to keep fit for war. There was only 1 winner and the winner got a crown of olive leaves. Over time  other events were added like horse races and boxing. After 10000 years the Ancient Olympics were banned by the Christians. The Ancient Olympic was always remembered  for hope and peace.
